The Aboriginal University Prep Program based out of the SFU Surrey Campus helps youth build a solid foundation of academic and personal skills in preparation for transitioning to university. The program includes foundation courses in university-level reading and writing, mathematics, and indigenous knowledge in the modern world.
We also cover study skills, managing stress, motivation, wellness, careers in a global environment, and look at the use of computers in university study. Youth will become familiarized with the university and its student support services.
The program is for all Aboriginal persons (First Nation, Métis, Inuit) who want to pursue a post-secondary education, who are looking for new challenges and career paths, and who are motivated to discover and explore what university has to offer.
