Become better informed about what your City government is doing, and let the City know what you think! Take advantage of your opportunity to telephone Council members, send letters or e-mails, or speak at City Council meetings. Watch Council meetings on your computer, at your convenience. Get involved in all kinds of forums, events and meetings. And have your say in municipal election years - vote!

Join a Civic Advisory Committee

The City has up to 23 Civic Agencies, really just groups of people coming together on a specific issue, to give advice to Council and staff on that particular issue. There are Agencies of all kinds that residents of Vancouver participate in…and most are specifically looking fro youth to apply! To apply go to: https://vancouver.ca/ccadvisoryboard_wa/

Family Court/Youth Justice Committee is one committee that has 4 seats specifically designated for youth-only committee positions. This committee also has a youth-sub committee for high school aged youth. If you are not interested in applying to actually sit as a committee member, but want to get involved and make a difference, you can apply to sit on the youth sub-committee.
