Stitch & Bitch: Contemporary Fibre Arts

Fellow fibre artists and crafters - bring your current projects to sew, spin, cross-stitch, mend, knit, crochet, felt, construct and create. Each session begins with a facilitated discussion on various fibre arts topics and practices, including local and international design and fashion, 'housework' and handiwork made artful, fibre artists and community activism, and the relationships between art and craft. We will provide lists of excellent resources to keep your own practices interesting and have time to share and discuss the work we all do.
Register in person at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre OR call (604) 713-1800 to register over the phone with a credit card.

Public Dreams 25th Birthday Party - A fundraiser for Parade of Lost Souls!

What: In honour of our 25 year history, Public Dreams is throwing a party not to be missed! Set at W2 Storyeum, the night will be filled with live music, roving performances, art installations, an indoor labyrinth, raffle and prizes for the best 'silver-themed' costume.
Parade of Lost Souls, a Vancouver Halloween institution of 15 years, was canceled in 2009 due to a lack of funding. Public Dreams wants to ensure that doesn't happen again. Please come out and show your support for this beloved event! Tickets are $25 ($20 before September 15th) - a $10 tax receipt is issued for each ticket purchased. Show starts at 8:00 pm - until late.
