GROWING CONNECTIONS: a free celebration of diversity across all ages, lifestyles, interests, and people.

Our event included:

  • Live music and dance performances
  • Dance workshops - hip hop, salsa, and more!
  • Art activities: diversity collage, face-painting, chalk drawings
  • Global Awareness: presentations by youth about distressed countries
  • The World in a Garden Harvest Celebration - fresh, local, organic produce; tours, scavenger hunt
  • Chance to win prizes!!

This event was coordinated by youth volunteers with citizenU, who have been attending workshops and events, and learning how to address discrimination as active citizens. The citizenU program is delivered by the City of Vancouver and funded by the Government of Canada.
